Air Cargo Management

The Air Cargo Industry is involved in the Transport of over 52 million tons of cargo annually. To prepare yourself to work in this industry one needs to be equipped with this comprehensive training. One u will learn about basic IATA cargo rules and procedures, how freight forwarders and airline cargo units operate, as well as the units listed below.

The course is also designed for freight forwarder staff who either have no prior DGR training or who have not updated their training during the past 24 months. It fulfills both the ICAO and IATA training requirements and qualifies the learner to handle and process dangerous goods for carriage by air.

 The Course is also intended for persons who have responsibility for rating and marketing of international air cargo shipments in accordance with the applicable IATA rates and regulations as contained in The Air Cargo Tariff (TACT).LanguageEnglishMode of Delivery

It will be a class setting theory training and applied practical training. Instructors of different subjects will be guided by the teaching manuals (Standard Training Programme) provided for each course level. 

Teaching manuals shall consist of the following:

  • Course outline
  • Course content
  • Schemes of work
  • Lesson plans (optional); respective instructors may make their own
  • Instructional notes
  • Appendices for aids/handouts 

Every instructor will be required to share with the students on the first lesson of how the subject will be delivered citing the prerequisite requirements for one to sit in for the final examination but not limited to what one must attain to be considered to have passed the course as follows

  • Achieve 80% attendance
  • Complete the institutions school fees
  • Attain 70% of the total marks  
  • CAT accounts for 30% and main exam accounts for 70%
